So how does a Korean diet plan look like? Sure, you could eat kimchi all day, everyday. Add some rice from time to time and you might lose weight in the process. But that would be boring, wouldn’t it? That’s at least what we thought and that’s why we got out there to find a better way of dieting.
The Korean diet has been around for at least as long as Korea itself exist. Probably longer. And we wanted to find out, which parts of the Korean cuisine would benefit our health, fitness and weight loss the most.
We love Korean food and no not all Korean cuisine is good and healthy for you or will help you to lose weight. But when you want to lose weight and get healthier, you should definitely try out our Korean diet plan. Because it will make your meals healthier and more delicious. And you will lose weight in the process.

When creating a diet plan, it is important to know that there is no magical formular for everybody. That being said, what you can do is to set yourself up for the best outcome possible. We will help you with your Korean diet plan and will introduce our version of the plan which can be easily followed by you.
We don’t like to cut down on food to much. That means we have to be careful what we eat. And we have to exercise regularly. And we think that this is a good trade-off to make. It is anyway rather difficult to pass on all the delicious Korean food around us. What does that mean for you? If you want to follow the Korean diet you should be willing to exercise. But don’t worry, because we have an amazing Kpop Workout for you. It is seriously a lot of fun.
Other than that, let’s talk about the food you can actually eat. Do we really have to monitor every bit of food? Not really. Why? Because we make sure that our portions are not to big. It took some time to figure out the right size of the portions. But once that was established, we were ready to go and to shred some pounds.
You might ask yourself, if it is just about the portion size. And rightfully so. We hardly eat fast food, at least the western definition of it. You can find so many different street food vendors in Korea, it is crazy. And we think that this Korean street food can be seen as fast food. Just take something like Tteokbooki. It is sweet, it consists of pressed rice and who knows what else they put in there to make it so delicious. But I have to tell you that I have Tteokbooki every week. It might not help me to lose weight, but it definitely does not make me fat.
All we want to say is that even the fast food in Korea is better for a good diet than for example the one in the United States. Why would you bother if you don’t live in the States? Because the western fast food chains are everywhere. And we are sure that you visit them from time to time. We are not saying that you cannot eat at McDonalds ever again. We are just saying that you should monitor your food habits a little bit better and rather have some nice street food if possible.
Let’s give you some advice on how to approach the Korean diet plan and what you can expect in the comming weeks and months. Shall we?
Set realistic expectations. This one is important. You should make sure that you have realistic goals. Because you will not be able to lose 20 kg in the next three days and it is a hard work to look like your favorite Kpop idol. If you really want to look as good as some of them, than you have to be aware that it will take some time.
Pick the Korean Diet. There are so many diets out there and it is easy to get lost in them. Which one is the right for one for me and how will I ever figure that out? The Korean diet is a traditional way of eating and it does not come with all the restrictions which make it impossible to follow any diet. This diet should be your first and last choice.
Create good habits. While on diet you have to create good habits. You have to make this diet your lifestyle. Eating this way should become a habit. Exercising should become a habit. When you stop thinking that it is a diet, you will be right where you have to be to achieve lasting Kpop weight loss.
Tailor the diet to your needs. The good thing about the Korean diet is that you can just tailor the diet to your preferences. You can eat whatever Korean food you want. Meaning that you have a big variety of food to choose from. So you can eat happily whatever you desire. And this way, everybody will feel comfortable with this diet.
Don’t forget to exercise. We mentioned it before and we will talk about it again. Exercising has to be a crucial part of your diet. You can be strict with the food as long as you want to. Without some exercising your body will never look Kpop ready. Just choose your workout and stick to it. If it gets boring, try another one. Just never give up on it.
If you keep these five tips in mind, you will eventually succeed. Because the Korean diet is rather easy to follow. And to make it even easier for you, we will share our Korean diet plan with you. Don’t worry if some of the ingredients are not at your disposal. Just get some alternatives and stick to the plan as much as possible. You will be fine. Rice is the most important part of each meal in Korea. A meal without rice is not a real meal. But we know that it can get a little bit difficult to have rice for every meal. So we tried to find some alternatives for you.

That’s it. This is our modified Korean Diet plan. If you are missing some snacks between the meals we are not surprised. But you will not need any snacks throughout the week. And if you really crave something sweet, besides all the wonderful fruits, you should try Patbingsu once a week. Other than that you should be strict and follow the plan. If you don’t have Kimchi at home or you are not sure how to make vegetable side dishes, just have a look for recipes around the internet.
If you cannot get used to Kimchi please don’t quit the diet plan entirely. Just leave the Kimchi out and replace it with other vegetables, salad or fruits. And if this is not working for you, you should try meat instead. But try to stick to the plan first and then take it from there.
Is that everything? It cannot be that easy, can it? Well, it is like we said. The Korean diet is healthy, delicious and without a lot of restrictions. Yes you have to cut down on chocolate and sweets. But you will not miss to much after a while, because all the tasty fruits will satisfy your sweet tooth. Yes you should not drink soda and rather choose water in the supermarket. But you will not miss the overly sweet and sugary soda drinks either, as soon as the Korean diet plan becomes a habit. Meaning, it will be your life and not just any diet anymore.

Start to love vegetables
Vegetables are the main part of the Korean Diet and this should not frighten you at all. Even if you think that vegetables are evil, we will show you that they can be delicious. And even better, easy to prepare. A normal Korean meal consists of rice, meat and different side-dishes, which are mostly vegetables or seafood. How many vegetables do you have on your dinner table? There is nothing wrong about vegetables and the Korean cuisine proves it. Korean meals are delicious and diverse. Sometimes we are shocked, how many different vegetables are actually out there for us to consume.
Many of the vegetables, which you woud need for a Korean meal, might not be available to you at all. Even if you go to Korea town, you might not get them. But this is not a problem. Because you can just use other vegetables and make your meals as similar as possible to the original recipes. And we promise that you will love our Korean recipes.

How does a Kpop Diet look like?
So far we had a look at how to eat like a Korean to get that super slim body. But we didn’t really show you how Kpop idols take care of their weight loss. Therefore, we would like to show you some specific Kpop diets. You can decide for yourself, if you want to follow them. And we will let you know which alternative you have. Let’s dive into each of the Korean celebrity diet and have a closer look.
Let’s start with the most famous Korean girl group „Girls Generation“ and have a look what they think a Kpop Diet should look like. The girls revealed that they only eat 800 calories a day before they go on tour. Part of their diet is salad, beans and tofu. This sounds crazy to me. Even if I can see this working for them, I am not sure if it will work for you. 800 calories is really not a lot. Your body needs calories to be able to function well and get you through the day. And if you eat such a small amount of food your body will hold on to that fat even more. Because your body knows exactly what you need. Therefore, you will loose some weight but it is nothing you should do for a longer period of time. It is just not healthy. And your health should always come first. We would also like to mention that the SNSD Diet has changed over the last years. Thr girls don’t look as skinny anymore but rather fit. And that is exactly what you should be going for.
Hyuna of 4Minutes is one of our all time Kpop idol favorites and she has a very special way of dieting and losing weight. She revealed in an interview that she never uses the elevator and always takes the stairs. So it is like a simple Kpop Workout. And she stayed away from foods made out of flour. If you see her before and after pictures you will understand that those two things really helped her a lot. And none of them is the wrong thing to do. If you decide to take the stairs, instead of the elevator and to cut out flour products from your diet, we couldn’t be happier. That would be a good first step in the right direction. But this will not be enough to get you were you want to be.
The „Nine Muses“ are famous for one very unique approach to the Korean Diet. They call it the „Paper-cup“ diet. How does it work? Get three paper cups or just any normal sized cups. Fill the first one with fruits, the second one with rice and the third one with side dishes. Do this for each meal, three times a day. You can see that this diet is all about the size of the portion. They make sure that they have a variety of food and that they eat regularly. We think that the paper cup diet can help you losing weight. This one is worth trying. Because you can monitor how much you actually eat and that is a good start for a successful diet.
Seo In-Young and the banana diet. What is the banana diet you might ask and rightful so. If you have never heard of it, than we will enlighten you. This Kpop Diet is perfect for almost everybody out there. Have one or two bananas for breakfast and drink only water. For lunch you should have whatever you want, as long as it is not to greasy, and dinner can be a traditional Korean meal. That’s it. Sounds pretty easy to us. You can try this out, if you want to. But we recommend you have a proper breakfast instead. And you can trust us that a healthy breakfast will not torpedo your Kpop weight loss.
The Korean sweet potato diet is another diet which we want to mention. This one comes from the one-food diet craziness. Meaning that you only eat one specific food and nothing else. In this case you only eat sweet potatoes. It might sound crazy at the beginning but we understand why people might want to do this. But we would not recommend this diet at all. You are just missing out on to many minerals and vitamins. It is really not healthy and it will bore you to death eventually. But truth be told, the Korean potatoe diet helped some Kpop idols to get their desired body. And sweet potaoes are delicious.
As you can see, everybody has its own way of losing weight. And none of the before mentioned Kpop Diets is good for everyone. So you should choose wisely.
